Sorry but you can’t have them! Not because I have smoked them all already ( always a risk ! ) but because they are not in the UK yet. Now we are ever hopeful that those lovely chaps ( and chapess’es!) at Hunters and Frankau will get their hands on them soon after Christmas…and so will we, but if you want to ensure your allocation,we will take your money now and guarantee your order as the interest in this limited edition cigar is higher than I have ever known for any other cigar.

Of course we do expect a substantial allocation but if you don’t preorder there is no guarantee we will have any left!

Does Barry Manilow smoke Havanas?

I have absolutely no idea! but who cares he’s still a great entertainer 🙂 http://www.manilow.com/

Saw him at the o2 this evening with my co – Director ( mission control) and I can honestly say he was as entertaining as when I first saw him at Wembley 30 years ago!

The o2 is an incredible venue and the acoustics were excellent http://www.theo2.co.uk/

Ahh…. cigar content? …Ramon Belicosos on the drive home :-0 Perfect end to the evening.

Have a great weekend

Pre Xmas herf

Following an 11 year tradition our pre Xmas herf was held at Boisdale of Belgravia, our current favourite hangout 🙂

Dinner at 7.30 ( quite splendid although Zaff was sternly reprimanded for walking in with a lit cigar!) …all finished by 8.30 and smokes on the terrace for some hours afterwards 🙂 with some excellent single malt.

Spotted Zoe Ball and husband Fat Boy Slim herfing some big cigars on the terrace whilst we enjoyed our usual staples…BBF’s P2’s and Monte 2’s

Chris was……Chris !

Gordon was power herfing as ever,Craig was trying to keep up (did a good job) Wilkes was keeping his friend Yulia posing for photos ( only 22 and herfing Trinidad robusto extras!) and Zaff was ……talking !

Next planned herf Burns night

Busy busy busy!

It’s been one of those weeks… busier than busy :-)I arrived back from Havana on Monday having herfed around 6 robustos and piramides a day for the previous 5 days and thought, maybe I’ll give it a break for a while. Strangely, that “while” only lasted till after lunch when “Rum ‘o’ Clock arrived and of course a cigar had to accompany a tumbler of HC15 (one ice cube only – thank you). Suitably revived I had around 500 emails to catch up on which is not bad considering we receive an average of 1200 emails a day. Thank goodness for wifi in Havanas Nacional Hotel

I am grateful to those awfully nice chaps at HSBC for inviting me to a splendid evening at One Whitehall Place on Tuesday. Dinner was very good indeed, the architecture of the room was incredibly impressive and the guest speaker was Tim Waterstone of Waterstones Book store and Daisy & Tom fame. Tims talk was truly inspirational and it was a pleasure to be on the same table with him.

Sadly no smoking at the dinner but I managed a Ramon belicosos on the drive home 🙂

Thursday evening I attended a cigar auction held by my friend Adrian Lesley of Cigars Unlimited. Adrian has a lovely cigar store in Fulham that is highly recommended (and his Mojitos are pretty good too! thank you Adrian). The auction included some exceptionally rare Dunhill and Davidoff cigars from a private collection. C.Gars Ltd were successful in purchasing around 35 of the available 60 Lots. Simon Chase of Hunters and Frankau did an excellent job as auctioneer and the auction was well attended with prices in line with expectation if a tad low.

Have to run, off to the vet for a follow up with Cohiba the cat who has finally been cured of his smoking allergy thank goodness. Now if I can just wean him off the rum….
